
From a young age Iyala found her love of nature, art, singing and movement. The same year she prepared for her graduation from School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Fine Arts, Iyala also completed her Yoga teaching Training Program at Jivamukti Yoga in 1999. She began teaching Yoga that year along with traversing the world including Asia, Central America, Indonesia, and then settling in Hawaii. Learning through all the cultures she has experienced she has studied many healing modalities that weave into her life and teachings. Much of her music is influenced by music of different cultures as well. She holds certifications in Massage Therapy and Reiki. Her teaching blends her knowledge and creativity to offer a rich physical practice that serves as a passage to peace. She also created and ran Meeta, an aromatherapy line. Now back in her native New York, she teaches yoga, paints, and sings/writes songs.
